Children's Day
Children’s Day is observed at the time of the Winter Solstice. On this day we celebrate the children of the sangha and bring warmth, light, and cheerfulness to the darkest time of the year. The celebration is open to everyone in the Tucson community.
Come join us and share in the story of Iliana. In this tale of the winter solstice, all the people of the kingdom of Shambhala are worried about the waning daylight, but no one knows what to do. Determined to save the kingdom from darkness, Iliana sets out alone to find the sun. Her adventures take her to unexpected realms where she encounters magical friends who help her on her way and, in the end, she discovers more than she set out to find.

Children are invited to bring gift or item to be donated to charity (it may be a used item), a cherished item to be blessed, and, if they would like, a small item to place on the shrine (for example, a small toy or animal, handmade decoration, or potted plant.)
